The bog oak we use comes from boglands in Ireland. Because of the nature of the wood it can sometimes result in the finished pen having natural indents or small pieces missing. This occurs in the natural turning process and we do not use artifical fillers as this takes away from the natural product. This product is made from wood and as such any patterns and colour variations is a normal part of any wood product. Bog Oak can vary from  brown to black depending on availability.
